One weekend, two shows and lots of fun!!!!!!
The Brussels adventure has been planned for a long time and we have prepared intensively for it!! Now the time has finally come!!!
On Thursday morning we set off for Belgium!! On board was our little superstar Cassy!! Meanwhile, Audrey and Nora were able to spend their holidays with Irene and Aika. Thank you very much again for that!!
Towards the evening we arrived at our hotel in Brussels. We quickly unpacked our suitcases and then went for a nice walk with Cassy in the nearby park. It was still almost 30 degrees in the evening so we stayed in the shade as much as possible!! It wasn’t long before Meg and Kuba, who we had arranged to meet in Brussels to experience the EDS together, got in touch!!! We spent a fun evening in one of the many small pubs in Brussels!!
The next morning we set off early towards the Expo site!! It was already well over 20 degrees in the morning, we were happy to soon be in the air-conditioned hall!! The site was huge, as were the halls!! Everything was clean and super organized!! Now we could get started!! But there were a total of 129 beagles registered. That will probably take a while!! The bitches were scheduled for half past one in the afternoon, which the judge Michael Forte from Ireland kept to very well. In the meantime we had great conversations with lots of friends and made new contacts!! The time flew by!! Cassy was handled by Meg. We were super nervous, even though I was just a spectator this time. But the two were a dream team. I have never seen Cassy run like that before. She literally ran her way to victory in the working class. We thought we were dreaming!!! The team was extremely happy because Alotorius Old Glory had already won two classes before.
And then it was on to the next decisions!! Cassy was in the decision for European Winner – 2016!!!! Cassy wins the res. CACIB at the European Dog Show 2016!!!!!!! How proud we are cannot be described. To top it all off, she was awarded the BOB in the working class!!!! Completely overwhelmed and overjoyed, we said goodbye to Meg and Kuba in the late afternoon. But not for long. We’ll see each other again on Saturday!!!!
We came home on Friday night, exhausted but overwhelmed by the many impressions. We had to sleep quickly, as Karina and Lucas were supposed to be here on Saturday afternoon!! In the morning I picked up the two girls and our friends from Austria were already waiting at home. We spent a fun afternoon together and in the evening the grill was put to the test. As befits such a great summer day. We sat together for a long time until the two of them went to sleep, as we had been out since 3 a.m. We were still waiting for Meg and Kuba, who arrived at 1 a.m. with their dogs. First, as always, the dogs were greeted and looked after and then nobody wanted to go to sleep. So we sat outside happily until almost 4 a.m. Then we quickly went to bed. Tomorrow is the CSS of the Swiss Beagle Club and we want to make a good impression. Our offspring are making their big appearance, and we were looking forward to that the most!!!!
We all arrived in Dübendorf in a convoy a little late!! Tents were quickly put up!! And soon the show started!! We were successful with all the dogs. Kuba and Meg won the male and female classes with their youth dogs. And the veteran class also went to them!!!!
Duke from our offspring took a very good 4th place in the open class for males!! They were super proud to have stood so well in 35 degree heat!!!
Then the girls were just as successful!!! Pheebee excellent 2 res. CAC and Aika a V3!! Wow girls, and that for the first time and they handled it themselves!! Great!!!!!!!!
Cassy was allowed to go into the ring with Meg again and what can we say!!!!

After confirmation from the SKG, this victory also makes her Swiss exhibition champion!!!
At the end our little ones had their joint appearance in the breeding group!!! They did great, as they had before, and the Beagle specialist judge Elly Vervoort, NL, presented Michi with the trophy for the best breeding group 2016!!!!! What a success for our small amateur breeding!!!!! Everything was done right!!!!
After these successes, we are actually at a loss for words. However, we would like to thank Kuba and Meg from the bottom of our hearts for their trust and help!! We would also like to thank the owners of our offspring, who have long since become good friends. Without you, none of this would have been possible!!
We are now at a point where we would not have dared to dream a year ago. Sometimes everything turns out the way everyone deserves it. And we are happy to have chosen the right path for ourselves. Many thanks to all the friends who have supported us. We look forward to many more wonderful hours together with you and your Beagle!!!!
