Curtis enchants Geneva!!!!!

As every year in November, Geneva is marked in bold in our calendar. This year, however, we decided to go with our Curtis only. It should be a bit quieter with just one dog. But none of us would ever have dared to dream of what awaited us.

We started on Thursday evening! We were allowed to travel with Yvonne and Spike and were looking forward to a fun weekend. On the way we were joined by Dean, who we wanted to exhibit for Jürg and Hanny in Geneva. We made good progress without any traffic and shortly before Geneva we stopped at a rest area to spend the night. So on Friday morning we were able to drive to Palexpo, the motorhome parking area, without any stress. As we didn’t check in until the afternoon, we had enough time to have a leisurely breakfast and look after the dogs. After lunch we headed towards the show. The hall was full of exhibitors and dogs. Fortunately, we met a lot of friends who had already saved us a place in the ring. Otherwise it would have been really difficult. Every year this show gets bigger and bigger. We immediately informed ourselves and realized that, like every year, the competition here in Geneva is considerable. Beagles from France, Holland, Belgium and even Spain had traveled to Geneva. It was going to be exciting.

Friday was very successful for us. Curtis opened his show champion and Dean was even allowed into the ring of honor in the evening. So it was a bit late until we left for dinner with friends!!! But it was worth it. We haven’t eaten such delicious food for a long time. Really recommended.

On Saturday we relaxed and headed back to the show in the morning without much luggage. We left the boxes in the hall overnight. This time we didn’t have to wait long at all. It was our turn right after a few dogs in the morning. And what can I say? Curtis has one more fan!!! The judge was blown away by him. And we left the ring with his first CACIB and on top of that the Best of Breed!!! The joy was huge, because soon after Michi arrived and we could all wait together for the ring of honor!!!! The time was spent with ring training and interesting conversations. So suddenly it was time for us. Curtis was in a good mood, had fun and I was really looking forward to our performance. You always feel like a superstar in Geneva.

The FCI Group 6 was well filled with 11 dogs. Curtis ran in and I almost couldn’t believe it myself. He presented himself like a show star! He walked proudly through the ring with his head held high and was cheered on vigorously from outside. What a joy, Curtis wins the group!!! The judge was blown away by Curtis and congratulated us on this unique male. So now we had to wait for Best in Show. With the 10 best dogs out of over 1700 Curtis entered the show. It is still like a dream. An experience that you won’t forget in a hurry. I am incredibly proud of this young male dog, who is already so impressive at 16 months. As we waited behind the curtain for the results, I was so busy with Curtis that I didn’t hear that RES. BEST IN SHOW is the Beagle!!!!!!!!! What me, Curtis, beagle!!! And already she was pushing me forward. What a feeling!!!!

We went back to the motorhome with great presents. Ordered pizza and celebrated!!!! I couldn’t sleep all night. We often asked ourselves: What about tomorrow? It can only get worse. After a win like that. What else can you achieve!!!

Well, what can I write now in retrospect!!!!!!?????

It’s unbelievable! Unbelievable like a dream!!!

Curtis has done the double and on Sunday he ran again up to RES. BEST IN SHOW!!!

Simply without words!!!!!!!!

We would like to thank all our friends!!!!! Without you the experience would only have been half as worthwhile. It was a wonderful feeling to hear and see so many people cheering you on!!! Thank you so much!!!

Of course also to the judges of the three days in Geneva for their high appreciation and the many kind words to our Curtis!!! We are still speechless!!!
