When dreams come true

Like every year, Geneva is a fixed date in our calendar. The hotel right next to the hall and a perfectly organized show draw us back to this location every year. This year we traveled with 3 generations and we were very excited. Curtis was allowed to present himself on three days, Cassy and Vicky on Saturday and Sunday.

So we arrived comfortably on Friday at noon, as we gave ourselves the CAC show in the morning without the ring of honor. We were greeted in the hall by Laura Hitz and her entire team, who reserved a place for us. So we prepared ourselves for the afternoon show. Curtis was the only one with an entry, but it was also important for Vicky, as it would be her first show in such a large arena on Saturday. But as expected, she was totally unimpressed.

The show started and Curtis ran to BOB and impressed the judge. Full of joy we now waited for the impressive ring of honor. You always feel like a superstar in Geneva. Photographers and Camara men everywhere, so many lights and music. Plus a live stream.

As always, Curtis was motivated and full of joy. He presented himself with this charisma and won first place in the group. Wow, now we were among the top 10 dogs in the show for Best In Show!!! What a feeling that was! As always, I could rely 100% on Curtis and we had so much fun together. Satisfied and proud, we drove back to the hotel late in the evening.

The second day was to be no less spectacular. Today with all three dogs at the start. First Curtis won the CACIB for males. Now it was Vicky’s turn! She mastered her task confidently and won her class with VV1. We are so proud of the little mouse. Then Cassy was entered in the veteran class. She also convinced the judge with her crazy character and won!!! At the end we were happy about the BOB of Curtis and the BOS of Cassy!!! In addition, Cassy and Vicky won Veteran and Best Puppy respectively. What more could you want. The judge was thrilled when she learned from us that these are 3 generations. Now we had to wait again to see what else would happen.
And it is simply unbelievable! Vicky runs for the first time at such a big show in the ring of honor and wins Best in Show Puppy!!!!! Banana we love you so much!!!!
Dad Curtis was incredibly proud and followed his daughter once again to first place in the group!!!! We could hardly put the day into words and celebrated with our friends in the evening!!!

But the weekend wasn’t over yet! The best is always saved for last!!!!

Sunday, and we are back with all our three dogs at the start!!! Unfortunately, some exhibitors decided not to take part, so that the competition was manageable. But that didn’t affect our mood. As always, we were fully motivated. And we were able to repeat the result from Saturday. The judge would have loved to take Vicky home with her. She was so in love!

Now to wait again and enjoy every moment. I can hardly put into words what happened next. It still brings tears to my eyes with sheer joy.
Cassy takes 2nd place in Best Veteran In Show, unbelievable with this big competition, we were so happy.
Then Curtis enters the group. Everyone was wondering: Will he win the group for the third time?

And yes!!!Curtis is also at the top of the FCI group at the third show in Geneva 6!!!!
Laura comes and takes me in her arms and says: And now Kurtli wins Best IN SHOW !!!!
It’s a moment you hardly dare to dream of.A wish and a goal that every exhibitor secretly has but never dares to say out loud. And I was able to experience this moment together with my soul dog Curtis.
My heart almost stopped when the beagle was called. The emotions just washed over me.It was like watching a movie. It was only when we were on the way to the photographer and Michi and all my friends came towards me crying that I really realized what had happened.
I will never forget that moment.I would especially like to thank Laura Hitz once again. She has been with us for several years and is always on hand with help and advice. Without her training, our dogs and I would not be where we are now. This genuine joy was so nice to feel.
Everyone was happy for us and Curtis. Curtis had the whole hall under his spell.
Around 8pm we finally made our way home. My thoughts were still running through my head all night, but the next morning I was able to realize that my dream had come true:

A DREAM HAS COME TRUE!!!!!!
