European Dog Show 2021
The EDS 2021 was postponed and we decided to travel to Budapest after Christmas. As before every big show in recent times, we were anxiously monitoring the situation and were relieved when we were finally able to leave for Hungary on 27.12.21. All the preparations had been made and we were looking forward to exciting and fun days in Budapest. On Monday evening, we met up with Laura and her family at the hotel and toasted to the next few days.
On Tuesday the Cacib Show took place where we started with Curtis and Shelly. Curtis was awarded V2 res. CAC and Shelly got a V3. We were satisfied. Unfortunately the judging was delayed a bit, so that Dina could not go with Curtis to the Junior Handling. We promised her that it wouldn’t be a problem the next day.
So Wednesday got off to a relaxed start. Our hotel was right next to the show. After a leisurely breakfast, we set off.
When we arrived at the hall, we saw all the familiar faces. It was a great feeling to see all the breeders from all over Europe again. Unlike in Brno, many more countries were represented as the regulations in Hungary were not as strict with Corona. This made the show even more exciting.
Curtis and Shelly started in different rings, as 122 beagles were entered. We were in the ring almost at the same time. Curtis won his class and we were extremely proud. Shelly also achieved a great 3rd place in her class. What great results. But it wasn’t over yet. Curtis was still allowed to run for the title European Winner 2021!
How can we describe the feeling? There are no words. I was completely overwhelmed with emotion.
Curtis becomes
EUROPEAN WINNER 2021
Unbelievable!!! After the junior title, he also wins the adult title, and right after that!!! We are just so proud and can’t find the words to describe this feeling. I think everyone who has been able to celebrate such a success with a home-bred dog can sympathize with us. On top of that we got the Hungarian Champion!!!
At the Club Show in the afternoon we started only with Shelly, because the Junior Handling was at the same time again. Diana and Curtis were a great team and beautiful to admire in the ring of honor.
Shelly reached at the Club Show a V2 res. CAC !!!! Michi and Shelly have become a great team!!!
In the evening we celebrated long and extensively!
Thursday we went back to Switzerland. Now we are back home, but we will need some time to get over all this.
Now we wish all our friends and acquaintances a Happy New Year and all the best for 2022!!!! See you soon and thank you very much for your support!!!
